37 aircraft were airborne by 09:18 , mission #70 , Primary target: industry along the Kiel canal.
The original target was Berlin, but either heavy cloud cover or failure to rendezvous with fighter escort,
resulted in bombing the secondary target, Kiel.
Flak was unusually accurate and resulted in the loss of Lt. Marian O. Hagan and his crew, flying "My Day"
